Grace Church Cowley

Giving

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
(2 Corinthians 9:7-8)

CURRENT FINANCES

Grace Church Cowley is a part of St Ebbe’s Church and is entirely funded by the generous giving of individuals. The Lord has been incredibly generous in our first year as Grace Church in bringing in enough giving to cover our basic costs of staff, accommodation and buildings. We praise him for this! However, there are some other costs currently being funded by the congregation of St Ebbe’s Church and we wish to grow the work at Grace Church in 2021. We’re laying these new needs before the congregation and our Lord.

THE NEED

1. Women’s Worker / Administrator
The Grace Church Committee see the need for a full-time Women’s Worker / Administrator to support the Church Leader in his work. They are aware how valuable it has been to have Pascaline Levillain fulfilling these roles as our Apprentice, but that this role will end in summer 2021. The Committee would therefore love to employ someone full-time in this role at that point. This would require an additional £9,000 of giving for 2021 in total (August-December).

2. Giving to mission
Grace Church Cowley so far has not been giving any money to other gospel ministries in the UK or abroad, while we have been getting off the ground. The Grace Church Committee are keen that we give 10% at a minimum of our regular giving to other ministries which need support. This would require an additional £6,000 of giving for 2021.

THE TARGET

Our target is therefore to raise an additional £15,000 of giving to fund these extra needs for 2021. We would love to be able to do this in a single Gift Day in November 2020, in order to be able to demonstrate the means to begin appointing a Women’s Worker / Administrator.

THE RESPONSE

We would love the bulk of this giving to come from extra regular giving, as this new need will not diminish but only increase in later years when we have to pay a full year of salary for this new role. Please do consider if you are able to increase your regular giving or to start regularly giving.

But we are also aware that from time to time, one-off giving is thoroughly appropriate and can be a wonderful provision from the Lord, just when it is needed.

In either case, the Finance Administrator needs to be informed of this extra giving by completing this form. If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid is a means by which the value of your gift can increase by 25% without any additional cost to you. If you are eligible, please tick the appropriate box in the form.

At this time, it is important to remember that giving is a work of and for the Lord. We offer ourselves first to the Lord and then how we might use our money to serve Him. This means that those facing financial hardship and who cannot give, or must give less money, are just as much a part of the work. We all share together in the work of the Lord. He is able to provide not only for our needs but also the needs of the work of Grace Church Cowley.

In the first instance, please pray and ask our Heavenly Father to lead our hearts to a settled cheerfulness in giving, whatever that looks like at this point for you.

General giving information (not for Gift Day):

We trust that God will provide for all our needs as a church. God uses members of our church family to meet many of these needs, through generous and sacrificial giving, for which we are so thankful. There are many ways to give to the work of Grace Church, including the giving of our time through service, and through our finances.

Grace Church Cowley is almost entirely funded by the generous giving of its members, covering the many different areas of expenditure, such as staffing, maintaining our buildings, administration costs and the running of events. We also send money to support our mission partners elsewhere in the UK and overseas.

Before deciding to give, do pray and commit your plans to the Lord.  When you're ready, please fill out this formThere are options to give a one-off or a regular gift.
